South Africa remains a deeply unequal society, with rising unemployment and poverty. Recognising the deep-rooted challenges created by poverty and inequality, Altron Systems Integration is giving back through shared value.
IBUSA Foundation is a non-profit organisation devoted to serving the needs of their community in and around Randburg providing food to 150 families every week, clothing distribution, sanitary pads drive, and digital literacy skills training. “This donation has come at the right time, electricity has just been installed in the settlement and our children do not have the means to study or apply for jobs online with COVID-19 having accelerated our disadvantages,” said Vusi Thomas, Community Leader Altron Systems Integration donated 15 laptops to IBUSA’s computer centre in Jerusalema informal settlements to equip their team with the tools to help with training programs and community upliftment initiatives. “This donation will go towards the IT programme to IBUSA and help all the children and adults who do not have access to computers but through this initiative, their lives can be changed,” said Hardus Steyn, Chief Information Officer at Altron Systems Integration Mpumi Malinga, Director at IBUSA Foundation thanked the team for their donation and how it will go a long way in helping in their passions to teach and share skills training. The laptops have helped achieve a dream the foundation has had since 2012. “Your generosity will further our mission in bettering the lives of the children and displaced people, it means the world to us, the beneficiaries, and the community of Jerusalema who will participate in the Computer Skills training programme,” said MalingaOne wise man once said, ‘every child is a scientist waiting to be discovered, as IBUSA Foundation we have committed to searching for that gift in each child and individual.” added MalingaAltron Systems Integration is proud to support organisations such as IBUSA, whose values much like ours speak to being passionate about communities and embracing diversity and inclusion. Societal impact is the foundation of our brand purpose and promise and initiatives such as these inspire us, and we hope to inspire our employees and communities to get involved and support more NPO’s like IBUSA. “We have had the opportunity to work with big companies who can assist in this donation, to empower and enable the community in computer literacy to be in the digital era as the rest of the world,” added SteynTo help IBUSA Foundation www.ibusa.co.za or email: [email protected]
