Today, Altron Group CE, Mteto Nyati, and the leadership teams from Altron BSI and Altron BPS had the pleasure of hosting Gauteng Finance MEC, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, and Head of Department of the Department of e-Government, Mr Boy Ngobeni, to celebrate several notable skills development initiatives that Altron has implemented in Gauteng.
One of these initiatives being the Altron Soweto Learning Centre where Altron BPS provides a 3-year programme to develop 50 learners with key IT Support skills national certification and workplace experience to create a talent pipeline for the industry. Some of the learners are currently undergoing workplace experience at the Department of e-Gov and Finances.
Another more recent project includes a Kronos workforce management training programme which will see the young graduates being placed within Altron BSI as permanent employees.
The MEC applauded these initiatives which feed into the economic plans and approach to maximise benefits for the fourth industrial revolutions and building a digital economy for Gauteng Province. She also cited other impactful and long-serving Altron activities in the province such as the recent refurbishment of schools and the end-user training provided to over 200 students on Nelson Mandela day.
Graduates shared their heartfelt experiences of the learnership programme, touching on the incredible difference it has made in their lives and the invaluable exposure the learning experience has afforded them.
