Manufacturing activities boost the value generated in an economy by creating activity further along value chains, from raw materials to finished products. African governments have recognised that a resilient manufacturing sector paves the way for a nation to provide a quality standard of living for its citizens.
Supporting the growth of manufacturing in Africa, the 8th edition of the Manufacturing Indaba will be hosted from the 22 – 26 November 2021 as a virtual event, to keep sharing information relating to the opportunities and challenges and around the manufacturing sector.
THEME – Rethink Manufacturing – Charting a post-Covid pandemic recovery course for manufacturers. Manufacturing’s impact on the economy and society makes it an unbeatable ingredient in the success of a state, region, and continent. Manufacturing is important to all African countries, specifically in terms of value addition to the economy, job creation, export earnings and tax revenue generation.
The Manufacturing Indaba has become a hallmark for the development of manufacturing by empowering African manufacturing participants to enter a new age of innovation, technology, competitiveness and sustainability.
The event is designed specifically for private & public company representatives to hear from industry experts as they unpack challenges and find solutions for growth across the manufacturing sectors and explore regional trade into Africa. Manufacturing Indaba boasts strategic partnerships with the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic), the Department of Science and Innovation (dsi), and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD).
